What do I need to file a claim?
To get the fastest possible service, make sure to have the below items on hand when filing a claim.
1. Your Item: Have the item you’re filing a claim on with you in order to provide specific details about it.
2. The Receipt for Your Item: Before you can file a claim, you need to submit a copy of the receipt (paper or email) you received when you bought your item.
3. Item Details: If we need to replace your item, knowing all the details about it will help speed things up. Depending on your item, we might need the IMEI/MEID number, serial and/or model number, as well as details such as brand, model, carrier, memory, color, size, etc.
In addition to the above items, you may need to perform the following actions:
1. Back Up the Data on Your Item: In the event that we need to restore or replace your item, all information on your item will be erased. To avoid losing your data, we strongly recommend you back your data safely before sending your item in.
2. Deactivate Find My Apple App: For iPhone, iPad, and Mac claims, in order for us to quickly repair or replace your device — and to make sure your personal data stays secure — you’ll need to deactivate the Find My Apple app for your device.
I didn’t receive a shipping label from Total Warranties Protection. What should I do?
If your claim was approved within the last 24 hours, please allow up to one day for your shipping label to be emailed to the email address associated with your Total Warranties Protection Plan account. Please remember to check your spam folder as well.
If it has been longer than one day, and you still haven’t received your shipping label, please email us here info@totalwarranties.com and include the name on the Total Warranties account, plus your claim # or warranty #. One of our specialists will email you a new shipping label within 2 business days.
What items do Total Warranties Protection Plans cover?
Total Warranties Protection Plans offer coverage for a wide range of consumer electronics and home appliances for indoor use, including things like:
- Smartphones and cell phones
- E-readers and tablets (e.g., Amazon Kindle, iPad, Android tablets)
- Computers and peripherals (e.g., laptop and desktop computers, printers, monitors)
- Televisions and video equipment (e.g., LCD, LED, and plasma TVs, BluRay players, DVRs)
- MP3 players and audio equipment (e.g., home theater systems, headphones, iPod)
- GPS navigation and car audio items (e.g., satellite radio receivers, car speakers)
- Cameras and camcorders (e.g., digital and film cameras, camera lenses)
- Video game consoles, including handheld units (e.g., Sony PSP, Nintendo 3DS)
- Home appliances (e.g., ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, dryers, mixers, vacuums)
- Lawn/garden equipment and power tools
- Outdoor appliances (e.g., electric and propane grills, griddles, smokers, and pressure washers)
Other types of items are unfortunately not eligible for coverage, including but not limited to:
- Items with no electronic or electrical components
- Other outdoor appliances (e.g., charcoal grills)
- Plumbing-related appliances (e.g., water heaters, softeners, or filters)
- Automobiles of any type
- Industrial equipment
- Items intended for commercial use

Do I need to register my plan?
Registration is purely optional and can only be completed online. This is a way to provide copies of the purchase receipt so that all this information is available if you need to file a claim further down the road.
Don’t worry if you haven’t registered yet! If you need to file a claim later, you will be prompted to provide all information needed to register. Please note, you cannot register your plan over the phone because we need you to create a password.

I filed a claim on my item and got a replacement. Do I need a new protection plan for it?
We offer up to three replacements on our smartphone and iPhone plans. If you’ve just received your first or second replacement, your coverage passes on to your replacement phone. If you’ve received your third replacement, your protection plan has reached its end. (Unfortunately, we don’t offer plan extensions at this time.)
